Wofford students spend summer consulting for area businesses
Twenty Wofford students are participating in The Institute, a program created by the college in 2009 to help students learn professional skills such as networking, public speaking and consulting before graduation to help them better compete for jobs. The Institute runs from July 8 through August 2. Divided into groups, the students will tackle a problem for one of four local companies: the Boy Scouts of America Palmetto Council, globalbike, Michelin North America, and Milliken and Co. In preparation for their projects, Institute students learn the basic skills needed to function in a professional environment.

Students Participate in Summer Orientation
Incoming members of the freshman class at Bob Jones University participated in summer orientation June 21-22.
Students and their parents attended informational sessions about the BJU experience, asked questions regarding academics, financial aid and student life and became familiar with the campus. Students were also able to receive academic and career counsel from faculty and register for their fall classes.

Area students participate in the Milliken/Wofford Summer Leadership Institute
The Summer Leadership Institute (SLI), co-sponsored and funded by Milliken, an innovation company with expertise across a wide breadth of disciplines including specialty chemicals, floor covering, and performance materials headquartered in Spartanburg, and Wofford College, is hosting 34 rising high school seniors from South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina this week (Sunday, June 12 through Friday, June 17).
